REFRIGERATION WARRANTY POLICY CHANGE
EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 1999, ALL REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS PURCHASED FROM PENN REFRIGERATION SERVICE CORPORATION WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING WARRANTY:
- ALL REFRIGERATION PARTS WILL BE WARRANTED FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR. DEFECTIVE PARTS MUST BE RETURNED TO FACTORY BEFORE ANY CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED.
- COMPRESSORS COME WITH A STANDARD ONE-YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY. AN EXTENDED FOUR-YEAR WARRANTY IS AVAILABLE AT AN ADDITIONAL COST. PRICING FOR THE EXTENDED 4-YEAR WARRANTY WILL BE INCLUDED, AS AN OPTION, IN ALL FUTURE QUOTES GENERATED BY PENN REFRIGERATION.
PENN REFRIGERATION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OF REFRIGERANT, LABOR CHARGES, FREIGHT OR PRODUCT LOSS.
PLEASE CONTACT A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR PRICING.
ONCE IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY A CERTIFIED REFRIGERATION MECHANIC THAT THE COMPRESSOR IS DEFECTIVE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS TO BE FOLLOWED:
1. CONTACT A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO VERIFY WARRANTY STATUS
- BE SURE TO HAVE THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE CONDENSING UNIT FROM WHICH THE COMPRESSOR HAS FAILED
- INSTALLATION AND FAILURE DATES
2. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WILL ADVISE IF COMPRESSOR IS UNDER
WARRANTY.
3. THE REFRIGERATION CONTRACTOR IS TO REMOVE THE DEFECTIVE COMPRESSOR AND RETURN IT TO THE LOCAL WHOLESALER.
4. IF THE UNIT HAS A SEMI-HERMETIC COMPRESSOR, A CORE SALVAGE CREDIT WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE WHOLESALER DEPENDING ON THE AGE OF THE UNIT. THERE IS NO CORE CREDIT FOR HERMETIC COMPRESSORS.
5. CUSTOMER / REFRIGERATION CONTRACTOR MUST PURCHASE A NEW COMPRESSOR IN THE FIELD FROM A LOCAL WHOLESALER.
6. THE CUSTOMER WILL SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FOR REIMBURSMENT:
- INVOICE FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE REPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR FROM THE WHOLESALER.
- THE DATA PLATE FROM THE FAILED COMPRESSOR.
- IF THE COMPRESSOR HAS A SALVAGEABLE CORE, SUBMIT THE CREDIT INVOICE FOR THE CORE.
- DOCUMENTATION INDICATING THE MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER OF THE CONDENSING UNIT.
- INSTALLATION AND FAILURE DATES.
- THE NAME OF THE ORIGINAL FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT DEALER AND THE YEAR THAT THE EQUIPMENT WAS SOLD WILL ALSO BE NEEDED SO THAT THE PAPERWORK MAY BE PROPERLY PROCESSED.
7. MAILING INFORMATION AS TO WHOM THE REFUND SHOULD BE SENT SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED.
